Different Finishes for the Wax Technique:                                                                                             After completing a gourd, I still like to spray it with a couple coats of Kraylon Spray Varnish.

If your gourd is going to be handled more without the wax getting damaged, you can also use Triple Thick Glaze by Kraylon  It comes in a spay on. Triple Thick is like it's name, very thick. It you do not like the gloss look, respray it again with Satin or Matt Kraylon to tone it back down.  This gives you the pertection without the gloss look.  ALWAYS TEST your products berfore applying them to your gourd.

Wax technique on wood:                                                                                                                              This wax technique does work on wooden surfaces.  Seal your wood first with a varnish.  This will allow your strokes to pull.  Otherwise the wax will absorb into the wood.  When you are done with your wax designs I suggest putting Triple Thick over it.

Wax technique on glass or plastic:                                                                                                              This process does work on glass and plastic as well. Make sure you apply Triple Thick over it to keep it applied to the glass or plastic.

Wax technique on cloth/material:                                                                                                                   At this time I have NOT been able to use the wax technique on cloth/material.  The wax is absorbed into the material not allowing the stroke to be pulled.  I have done a few designs where I went over the stroke a few times.  However it does not give you the nice clean stroke that we are use to.  If you find that you get this to work better then my experience, I would love to hear from you.  My motto is if someone tells you it does not work, try it!  You have nothing to lose.  Right?

Cleaning your Texture Brush:                                                                                                                        To clean your teture brush very well, use a degreaser or a product like Awesome.  Awesome works well at removing the wax and can be found at most dallor stores.
